Harvest Spirit in East Asian Brush Painting
Celebrate the spirit of the autumn harvest through the rich traditions of East Asian brush painting. Working with ink and color on rice paper, Wei-Ting will demonstrate how expressive brushwork and layered washes can evoke the quiet beauty of the season—drawing inspiration from pumpkins, seasonal flora, and autumn birds.
Wei-Ting Chuang is a California-based painter and educator specializing in East Asian brush painting, calligraphy, watercolor, and plein air work. Holding an MFA from National Taiwan Normal University and bringing over two decades of teaching experience, her art bridges traditional Asian brushwork with the vibrant light, landscapes, and culture of California.
A decorated artist, Wei-Ting’s accolades include Best Historical at the 2025 Suffolk Plein Air Festival and the Best of Black Ink Painting Award from the Sumi-e Society of America. She actively teaches brush painting and calligraphy throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
