Nancy Benton is largely self taught. She is an advocate for fostering the appreciation and creation of art in the general public. She often says that after time spent in her studio, she comes out feeling human again. That process of creation and discussion of a painting or sculpture or public installation is what makes us all human.
Nancy is a member of the Board of Directors of the Fremont Art Association and has been teaching in the FAA Studio for two years. She enjoys working in a series and working on several at a time. A series is never really finished and Nancy will often go back and revisit past ideas. She works mostly in acrylic and loves to express the human condition and our relationship to nature and each other through landscapes to abstracts.
Nancy's latest work can be seen at The Main Gallery in Redwood City. List of other exhibitions can be found on her website http://www.nancybenton.net.
