WIN A FABULOUS ORIGINAL WATERCOLOR PAINTING OF YOUR CHOICE

Win a fabulous original watercolor painting for yourself or someone at The Fremont Art Association’s Fund-Raiser Raffle. There will be three winners—winners will select a painting of their choice. The three original watercolor paintings have been donated generously by three award-winning artists of The Fremont Art Association: a thought provoking, ‘The Last Chocolate’ by Grace Rankin; ‘So There’, a charming giraffe by Jaci Daskoralis; a majestic ‘California Mt. Lion’ by Christine Wilson. These paintings are worth up to $325 in value. The raffle will help raise funds to help cover the operational cost of the new Fremont Art Centre located in the old historic town of Niles-Fremont, 37697 Niles Blvd., Niles-Fremont (corner of J Street). Open Wednesday – Sunday, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Raffle tickets are $1 each or six for $5. The winning number will be drawn at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 20 in conjunction with Niles’ Art, Garden, and Quilt Show. For questions, please call the centre, 510-792-0905.


BASICS OF WATERCOLOR AND MORE: MINI-WORKSHOPS WITH GRACE RANKIN

Please join award-winning multi-media artist, Grace Rankin, for a series of fun and valuable mini-workshops on Mondays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., starting April 16 through June 18, at The Fremont Art Association Centre, 37697 Niles Blvd., Fremont (corner of J Street). The cost is $40 for each session or $150 for all five sessions. All levels welcome.

June 4th: Elements and Principles of Design
June18th: Shadows and Reflections

Ms. Rankin has studied design and collage with nationally recognized artists Gerald Brommer, Betsy Dillard Stroud and John Salminen. Her art works have been exhibited in many prominent public facilities in the region. Collectors of her art include Mr. & Mrs. Clint Eastwood. The artist has 25 yrs. teaching experience in watercolor, both on location and in the studio.

ARTISTS IN THE GARDEN



5th ANNUAL PLEIN AIR PAINT OUT

In its efforts to promote art in the community, the Fremont Art Association will hold a one day Plein Air Paint Out at Lake Elizabeth/Central Park in Fremont on Saturday, September 15, 2012 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Artists will paint until 2:00 PM, followed by a reception at the Park Pavilion from 2:30 to 4:00PM.  The event is being cosponsored by Olive Hyde Art Guild, the Fremont Cultural Arts Council, City of Fremont and Mission Coffee Roasting Company, who will provide coffee and mini-pastries for the artists at registration time.  It will be open to both FAA members and non-members, with members paying a $15.00 entry fee and non-members paying $25.00.  For non-members this will also include full membership in the Fremont Art Association through the end of the year.  All 2-dimensional  mediums will be accepted, to include oils, acrylics, watercolors, pastels and mixed media. Read More.


FREMONT ART ASSOCIATION PLEIN AIR (FAAPA) STARTING NOVEMBER, 2011.

We have started an informal weekly (outdoor) painting group. The location will change every two weeks. All mediums are welcome; there is nothing you need to do to join in except show up and paint. Join us on Wednesday mornings from 9 am to 1:00pm; bring your lunch if you want to share in a group critique at the end.

The Fremont Art Association operates a Gallery located at 37697 Niles Boulevard Fremont, CA., in the historic Niles district of Fremont. The Association offers monthly guest artist demonstrations, gallery exhibiting privileges, feature artist showcases, annual events, and the opportunity to interact with a large group of seasoned artists. The Fremont Art association also has a newsletter, the Local Color , which is published monthly.

Membership is open to anyone, 18 years and over, who is interested in supporting our goals of fostering, promoting and encouraging the cultivation, and appreciation of Art.
