Monthly Guest Artist Demonstrations:
Our general meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month at 7pm in the Gallery (with the exception of August and December). At each meeting a guest artist presents a lecture or demonstration of a particular medium. Demonstrations vary from month to month and may be pastel, watercolor, painting techniques on fabric, pottery, or fused glass.Year Round Cooperative Gallery:
The association operates a member gallery in the historic Niles district of Fremont. Original artwork can be purchased at reasonable prices. Each quarter starts off with a wine and hors d'oeurvres reception for the new exhibit. Participating members rent space and staff once a month. We average 35 to 40 artists per quarter.Individual Artist Showcases:
In addition to our quarterly shows, we offer member artists an opportunity for their work to be featured in one of four individual artist showcases each year.Art in the Garden:
The Fremont Art Association and Regan’s Nursery team up for Art in the Garden one weekend each summer at the Nursery located at 4268 Decoto Road, Fremont. The Nursery is the garden setting where the artists create and exhibit drawing, painting, pottery work, ceramic pieces, fiber art, handmade soaps, lovely garden hats, and create jewelry as well as exhibit photography. Also the artists create art among the profusion of colorful blossoms everywhere and are accompanied by live music. There is a wide variety of art available for sale each year. Artists should bring all their supplies needed to paint, including an easel and chair if needed, a bag lunch and drinking water for the day. Hats and umbrellas are encouraged. All participants must be 18 years old.Due to City of Fremont regulations, all participants must be pre-registered, since no financial transactions can take place on City property. Check-in will be from 8:00 - 10:00 AM in the park at the pop-up tent which will be located between the Pavilion and the Community Center located at the intersection of Mission View Dr. and Paseo Padre Pkwy, at which time artists’ blank canvases or papers will be stamped on the back. Multiple canvases or papers can be stamped, though only one finished piece will be accepted from each artist at the end of the Paint Out.
Completed pieces must be returned to the Park Pavilion, behind the Community Center, by 2:00 PM for the reception and exhibition of completed pieces for public viewing and an optional silent auction from 2:30 PM -4:00 PM. The exhibition will also include a “People’s Choice” voting and award where spectators will vote for their favorite works. Photos of the pieces receiving awards may be used in publicity for next years’ Paint Out event and may also be shown on the FAA website, (see above URL ).
